operacinės sistemos registras statusas T sritis informatika apibrėžtis ↑Operacinės sistemos „MS Windows“ hierarchinės struktūros duomenų bazė, kurioje laikoma informacija apie sistemos ir įdiegtų programų sąranką, nuostatas, parametrus. Paprastai laikomas keliose ↑slepiamuosiuose failuose (pvz., operacinėse sistemose „MS Windows 95, 98, ME“ – failuose „system.dat“ ir „user.dat“). Duomenys apie programą į jas įrašomi, kai programa ↑įdiegiama, ir keičiami, kai keičiamos programos nuostatos arba parametrai. Registro duomenis galima koreguoti ir tiesiogiai naudojantis registro tvarkytuve „regedit“, esančia operacinėje sistemoje. Registre laikoma informacija apie tai, kokia yra numatytoji operacinės sistemos kalba ir kokie jos lokalės parametrai. Šia informacija gali pasinaudoti visos programos. Tai ypač svarbu daugiakalbių programų diegimo komponentams. Iš čia jie gali nustatyti numatytąją kalbą ir nuo pat diegimo pradžios tą kalbą vartoti diegimo dialogo languose ir ją įrašyti kaip numatytąją į diegiamos programos nuostatas.
